Physical characteristics

An annual plant growing to around 0.3m tall and 0.3m wide. This begonia can be perennial if protected from frost.

Flowers and foliage

Bright red flowers are produced in mass from late spring, right the way through summer to autumn, and the first frosts. Leaves are dragon wing-shaped and bright green.

Preferred site

Prefers full sun to partial shade with well-drained but moist soil.

Maintenance tips

Easy to maintain by removing spent flowers regularly to promote new buds. Feed with liquid fertiliser fortnightly through the growing season to promote flowering and healthy growth.

Pests and diseases

May get mildew in warm, humid conditions.
