Botanical Printing Workshop: Fabric Has Memory

Botanical Printing Workshop: Fabric Has Memory

Join local designer and eco-printing practitioner Jacqueline Tsang at Auckland Botanic Gardens this Spring to celebrate cherry blossom season.

Botanical Printing (Eco-printing) is a natural textile printing technique that uses heat and natural plant pigments to transfer the colours and textures of leaves and flowers onto fabric.

In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of botanical printing, including plant selection, fabric preparation, composition and steaming techniques. Using carefully selected and locally foraged botanical materials, you’ll transform vintage Japanese silk into a uniquely printed scarf of your very own!

Suitable for beginners, and anyone with an interest in sustainable fashion, natural dyeing and creative reuse.
