Flora, Roman goddess of flowers invites us to share their beauty and the beauty of the plants that give them to us, through art.
From the shy violet, largely unnoticed under foot, to the brash and colourful climbing rose, the elegant lily, the soft fern and spiky grass, the shine of rain-wet leaves, the delicate blossom of peach and plum to flaming rata and pohutukawa they provide a haven and nourishment for wildlife and bring pleasure that we all can share.
Celebrate this beauty at the exhibition of works by the Friends of Auckland Botanic Gardens Art Group, held from Saturday, August 1st to Sunday, September 13th in the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre at the Gardens.
