Jennifer Duval-Smith, is an Auckland based nature journalist and botanical painter and was the Garden's Visiting Artist for 2021. She has taught hundreds of people the mindful practice of nature journaling and loves how it acts to re-connect people to nature and to their own creativity. She says "The best thing about nature journaling is that it is available to everyone, If you can observe a plant, or creature and record what you perceive, in pictures, words or numbers, then you're already practicing it!".
