Donations

Give to the Gardens

There are a number of ways you can support the ongoing development of our gardens for the enjoyment and benefit of future generations.

Bequests

Leaving a gift in your will to the Friends of the Auckland Botanic Gardens is one of the most enduring ways to provide for the future of the gardens. Please contact the Friends on friendsofabg@gmail.com or 027 747 4363 for further information. You can also find further information here. They will be pleased to discuss any preferences you may have for the use of your bequest.

Memorial seats

The Friends of the Auckland Botanic Gardens provides visitors with the opportunity to dedicate a seat to celebrate an event or pay tribute to a loved one. Seats are provided on a ten-year tenure and the cost includes the seat, installation and a plaque. For more information please contact the Huakaiwaka visitor centre staff by emailing botanic.gardens@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz or by calling 09 267 1457.

There are no sites available for memorial seats at present. Should you wish to place your name on a wait list our staff can contact you when a site becomes available.

Current project: Sculpture in the Gardens

Sculpture in the Gardens is a biennial event hosted by the Friends of the Auckland Botanic Gardens. More than just a show of major outdoor sculpture, the event features workshops, weekly artist guided walks, a children’s trail plus music on Sundays on the terrace of the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre. The Friends acquire a sculpture from each exhibition to remain in the Gardens permanent collection.

Sculpture in the Gardens is now well established as a ‘must-see’ on the New Zealand sculpture calendar. This amazing event is the result of the tireless efforts of individuals dedicated to raising funds to support the exhibition. You can help by donating funds to the event. Visit sculptureinthegardens.nz or contact patrons@sculptureinthegardens.nz for more information about support and patronage.
